Mikä on Kotae Expon taidekortteli?

  • Taidekortteli on tarkoitettu omaa taidettaan tai käsitöitään myyville taitelijoille.
  • Taidekortteli on perinteisen taidekujan ja artesaanien fuusio.
  • Taidekortteli on uudelleen käyttöön tuleva termi vuodelta 2024, jolloin se oli Kotae Expon nimittämä yhdistelmä artesaaneja ja taidekujalaisia.
  • Vuonna 2026 taidekorttelilla tarkoitetaan ennestään tuttuja artesaaneja ja taidekujaa, jotka yhdistämme yhdeksi taidemyynnin tilaksi.
  • Yhdistämme taidemyyjät yhden nimikkeen alle tarjotaksemme joustavamman hakuprosessin, selkeämmän jaottelun ja yhtenäisen kommunikaation.
  • Taidekortteli on suunnattu kaiken kokoisille taiteilijoille.

Hinnat ja myyntipaikka

Taidekorttelilla on tarjolla kolme eri vaihtoehtoa paikkakokonaisuuksille. 

  • Yhden päivän myyjäranneke arvo 10€.
  • Viikonlopun myyjäranneke arvo 20€.

Myyjäranneke oikeuttaa sisäänpääsyn vain D-halliin. Ei oikeuta sisäänpääsyä ohjelmaan. Myyjärannekkeella pääsee D-halliin myös tapahtuman huoltoaikoina. 

Myyjärannekkeita on mahdollista ostaa apureille sekä pöytien laskutuksen yhteydessä on mahdollista ostaa myös normaaleja kävijärannekkeita.

Miten haen?

  • Taidekortteliin haetaan sähköisellä hakulomakkeella ja portfoliolla, joka lähetetään haun ollessa auki. Haluamme näin varmistaa myyntiartikkelien sopivuuden tapahtumaamme.
  • Taidekortteliin voit myös hakea yhdessä kaverin kanssa tai taiteilijaryhmänä. Täyttäkää tällöin hakulomake ja portfolio yhdessä!
  • Hakemukseen annettu sähköposti toimii vastuuhenkilönä pöytäpaikkaa koskevissa asioissa. Ryhmänä hakiessa vastuuhenkilön vastuuseen kuuluu muun ryhmän informoiminen.
  • Sähköisellä hakulomakkeella keräämme tiedot hakijoista ja heidän toiveistaan päivien ja paikkojen suhteen. Varmistamme samalla hakijoiden sitoutuvan noudattamaan taidekorttelin omia sääntöjä ja myyntisalin yhteisiä sääntöjä.

Portfolio

Taidekortteliin haetaan portfoliohaulla sähköisen lomakkeen kautta. Portfoliohaulla haluamme varmistaa myyntiartikkelien sopivuuden tapahtumaamme. 

Tuotteiden aihepiiri on vapaa. Kotae Expo on koko perheen tapahtuma ja sen teemoihin kuuluvat japanilainen ja korealainen populaarikulttuuri, joten suosittelemme tuotteiden olevan sopivia kyseisiin teemoihin. Tämä ei ole kuitenkaan pakollista, sillä monipuolisuus tuotteissa on aina rikkaus. Originaalit ja fanitaiteet ovat myös soveltuvia taidekortteliin.

Jos sinulla ei ole näyttää valmiita tuotteita, voit silti hakea taidekortteliin. Tällöin voit esitellä portfoliossasi valmiita digitaalisia teoksia ja kuvatekstillä kerrot millaisia tuotteita tulet myymään kyseisistä teoksistasi. 

Portfolion ohjeet:

  1. Otamme vastaan vain PDF-muotoisia portfolioita. Voit ladata tiedoston helposti Google Driveen/Dropboxiin tai muuhun vastaavaan pilvipalveluun. Muussa muodossa lähetetyt portfoliot menevät automaattisesti hylkyyn. (Ohje PDF:n tekoon)

  2. Aloita portfolio lyhyellä esittelyllä taiteestasi ja kiinnostuksistasi.

  3. Lisää kuva aikaisemmasta pöydästäsi Kotae Expossa tai muussa conitapahtumassa. Vaihtoehtoisesti voit lisätä kuvan pöytäsuunnitelmasta.

  4. Portfolion enimmäissivuraja on 10 sivua. Esittele tuotteitasi selkeästi, mutta ytimekkäästi. Huomioithan kuitenkin kuvien koon ja portfolion luettavuuden. Raati ei suurentele kuvia, ellei ole syytä epäillä sääntörikkomuksesta.

  5.  Valitse mahdollisimman tuoreita ja valmiita teoksia portfolioosi. Kuvia on myös hyvä avata ytimekkäällä kuvatekstillä.

  6. Useamman hakijan portfoliossa tehkää yhteinen esittely ja kuva, mutta lisätkää omat tuotekuvanne ja merkatkaa ne selvästi, jotta raadin on helppo erottaa mikä tuote on kenenkin. Yhteisen portfolion enimmäissivuraja on 15 sivua.

  7. Varmista, että linkit portfolioon toimivat ja sitä pääsee katsomaan kuka tahansa linkin saanut.

Olennaista tuotteissa on, että ne ovat hakijan suunnittelemia ja toteuttamia. Jos teet tuotteita valmiista kaavasta, kerrothan mistä kaavat ovat peräisin. 

Taiteilija voi tilata tuotteensa haluamaltaan valmistajalta.

Vaadimme korttelilaisiltamme oman kädenjäljen näkymistä myyntiartikkeleissa.

  • Tuotteet voivat olla:

    • printtejä, tarroja, pinssejä, koruja, maalauksia, valokuvia, kirjoja, zineja, pelejä, figuureja, kaiverruksia, veistoksia, käsitöitä, vaatteita, asusteita, 3D-printtauksia tai muita taidonnäytteitä.

    • K-18 tuotteet ovat sallituja, mutta ne täytyy eritellä omaan kansioon, johon on selkeästi merkattu K-18 ja sisältövaroitukset. Esillä oleva taiteellinen alastomuus sensuroidaan peittämällä nännit ja genitaalit

Taidekorttelipaikkaa hakiessa on mahdollista esittää toiveita pöytäpaikan sijaintiin, jos on tarvetta huomioida esteettömyyttä tai haluat mahdollisesti päästä kaverin viereen. Pyrimme toteuttamaan toiveet, mutta emme pysty takaamaan niiden toteutusta.

Yleiset myyjäehtomme koskevat soveltavin osin taidekorttelilaisia.

Kielletyt artikkelit:

  • Täysin tai osittain generatiivisella tekoälyllä tuotettua taidetta. (Kuten Kotae Expon yleinen AI-linjaus määrää.)

  • Emme hyväksy suoraan lähdemateriaalista läpipiirrettyjä teoksia, joihin ei ole lisätty mitään omaa.

  • Rasistisen, syrjivän tai muuten asiaton sisältö

  • Valmiina ostetut tuotteet

  • Valmiita elementtejä yhdistelemällä tehty tuote

  • Elintarvikkeet

Tapahtuma pidättää oikeudet poistaa sääntöjä rikkovat myyjät korttelilta.

Valintaperusteet

Hakijaraati koostuu tapahtuman vastaavista ja tarvittaessa tapahtuman ulkopuolisista asiantuntijoista.

Taidekorttelipöytiä on varattu rajattu määrä. Jos taidekorttelihakijoiden määrä ylittää varatun kiintiön, suoritamme raadituksen portfolioiden perusteella. Valintoja ei tehdä hakujärjestyksessä, vaan teemme valinnat hakuajan päätyttyä. Pyrimme varmistamaan valikoiman olevan monipuolista ja kävijöidemme mieleen. Raati koostuu Kotae Expon eri vastaavista, jotka tuovat monipuolista näkemystä sekä kokemusta valintoihin.

Valintaperusteina toimivat alla olevat perusteet:

  • Tekninen osaaminen: arvio omasta tyylistä, tuotteiden laadusta ja tuotteissa näkyvästä kokemuksesta.

  • Monipuolisuus: tarjottujen tuotteiden ajankohtaisuus, vaihtelevuus ja monimuotoisuus.

  • Kohderyhmä: kuinka hyvin tuotteesi sopii Kotae Expon painotuksiin, japanilainen ja korealainen popkulttuuri. 

  • Luovuus: kuinka omaperäistä työsi on, kuinka paljon omaperäisyys näkyy työstä, oma tyylitys.

Jos valituksi tullut joutuu perumaan osallistumisensa ennen tapahtumaa (kts. myyntiehdot) , pyrimme valitsemaan tämän tilalle korvaajan yllä mainitulla menetelmällä.

Esittelyt myyjistä julkaistaan valittujen varmistuttua.

Ensikertalaiset

Hakijamään ylittäessä avoimien paikkojen määrän vähintään 20%:lla otamme käyttöön ensikertalaiskiintiön. Tällöin vastaavasti 20% paikoista täytetään ensikertalaisilla. 

Ensikertalaiskiintiöllä tarkoitamme taiteilijoita, jotka ovat ensimmäistä kertaa myymässä Kotae Expossa.

Tapahtuma pidättää valtuudet poistaa sääntöjä rikkovat taiteilijat myyntihallista.

  • Taiteilijan tulee olla täyttänyt vähintään 15 vuotta tapahtumaan mennessä.

  • Kotae Expo on ikärajaton ja kaikenikäisille tarkoitettu tapahtuma. Jos tuotei ei ole selkeästi K-18 tuote, se voidaan pitää osana taiteilijan katalogia sensuroituna. Taiteellinen alastomuus tulisi pitää omassa erillisessä kansiossa. K-18 materiaalia ovat muun muassa seksuaalista, liian rajua tai väkivaltaa sisältävät tuotteet. Nämä annetaan asiakkaan katsottavaksi vasta kun ikä on tarkistettu. Taiteilijan vastuulla on valvoa, etteivät alaikäiset pääse selaamaan K-18 materiaalia.

  • Teoksissa on hyvä näkyä taiteilijan oma kädenjälki eivätkä ne saa muistuttaa liikaa alkuperäistä lähdeteosta. Esim. jos haluat myydä omaa versiota klassisesta maalauksesta, varmista että siinä näkyy oma kädenjälkesi.

  • Jokainen taiteilija on vastuussa omista tuotteistaan, hinnoistaan ja pohjakassastaan. Älä jätä rahojasi ja arvotavaroitasi ilman valvontaa.

  • Taiteilija on vastuussa oman pöytänsä rakennelmien turvallisuudesta ja tukevuudesta.

  • Pöydän viereen ei saa viritellä omia hyväksymättömiä lisärakennelmia tai telineitä. Muuten kaikkien rakennelmien täytyy mahtua olemaan pöydän päällä tai takana.

  • Taiteilijoita kehotetaan ottamaan pöytäänsä bannereita, viirejä yms. värittämään pöytää tai vaihtoehtoisesti taustaa.

  • Huomioithan muut taiteilijat ja jätät tarpeeksi kulkutilaa pöytien taakse ja sivuille, etkä häiritse muita ylimääräisellä metelillä tai sopimattomalla käytöksellä.

  • Matkalaukut ja muut kuljetukseen liittyvät tavarat on pidettävä poissa kulkuväyliltä.

  • Pöydällä ei saa myydä sellaisen henkilön tuotteita, joka ei ole päässyt tai hakenut taiteilijaksi. 

  • Pöytien takana tapahtuva asiaton oleskelu on KIELLETTYÄ.

Art Block applications 2026

What is Kotae Expo Art Block?

  • The Art Block is intended for artists selling their own art or crafts.
  • The Art Block is a fusion of a traditional Art Alley and an Artisan area.
  • The Art Block is a term that is revived from the year 2024, when it was the name given by Kotae Expo to a combine artisans and artist alley vendors to one place.
  • In 2026, the Art Block refers to the familiar artisans and artist alley, which we are combining every artist into a single art sales space.
  • We are bringing art sellers together under a single umbrella to offer a more flexible application process, clearer categorization, and consistent communication.
  • Whether you are a first-timer or an experienced veteran, you are more than welcome to apply to the new Kotae Expo Art Block.

Price and sales area

The Art Block offers three different options for venue packages.

  • One day vendor pass is worth of 10 €.
  • A weekend vendor pass is worth of 20€.

The vendor pass grants access only to Hall D. It does not grant access to the main program. The vendor pass also grants access to Hall D during event setup and breakdown times.

Vendor passes can be purchased for helpers, and regular visitor passes which grants access to the programs can also be purchased when the Art Block tables are invoiced.

How to apply?

  • Applications to the Art Block are submitted via an online form within the application period as part of the portfolio review process. Through this process, we aim to ensure that the items for sale are suitable for our event.
  • You may apply alone or in a group. In either case, you must create a portfolio to showcase each artist’s art.
  • The email address provided in the application serves as the point of contact for the matters regarding the Art Block. When applying as a group, the contact person is in responsible for keeping the rest of the group informed.
  • Through the online application form, we collect information about applicants and their preferences regarding table size and sales day. At the same time, we ensure that applicants agree to follow the Art Block’s rules and the shared rules of the vendor hall.

Portfolio

Applications for the Art Block are submitted via an online form as part of the portfolio review process. Through this review, we aim to ensure that the items for sale are appropriate for our event.

The subject matter of the products is not restricted. Kotae Expo is an event for the whole family, and its themes include Japanese and Korean popular culture, so we recommend that the products you will sell are suitable for these themes. This is not mandatory, however, as diversity in products is always a strength. Original works and fan art are also suitable for Art Block.

If you don’t have any finished products to display yet, you can still apply to the Art Block. In that case, you can showcase finished digital works in your portfolio and use a caption to describe what kinds of products you’ll be selling based on those works.

Portfolio guidelines:

  1. The portfolio must be a PDF file. You can easily share the file by uploading it to Google Drive or Dropbox or another similar cloud service. If we receive portfolios created in any other format, they will be automatically rejected.

  2. Begin the portfolio with a small introduction of your art and areas of focus.

  3. Include a picture of your previous table at Kotae Expo or any other convention. Alternatively you can include a picture of your table layout.

  4. The maximum page limit for the portfolio is 10 pages. Present your products clearly but concisely. Please note the size of the images and the readability of the portfolio. The jury will not zoom in on an image unless there is a suspicion of a rule violation.

  5. Select the most recent and finished works possible for your portfolio. It’s also a good idea to include a brief caption with each image.

  6. If there are multiple applicants in one portfolio, create a shared introduction and cover image, but include your own product images and label them clearly so the jury can easily distinguish which product belongs to whom. The maximum page limit for a shared portfolio is 15 pages.

  7. Make sure the links to the portfolio work and that anyone who receives the link can view it.

The key requirement for products is that they must be designed and produced by the applicant. If you are making products from existing patterns, please indicate where the patterns came from.

We require the Art Block artists to include “a personal touch” be evident in the items they sell. This means that either artworks or crafts are made entirely by the artist to express one’s own vision and artistic creation. Artists may order their products from any manufacturer of their choice.

When applying for a spot in the Art Block, you may request a specific table location if you need to consider accessibility or wish to sit next to a friend. We will do our best to accommodate your requests, but we cannot guarantee that they will be fulfilled.

Our General Terms and Conditions for Vendors apply as applicable to artists in the Art Block.

Products may include:

  • Prints, stickers, pins, jewelry, paintings, photographs, books, zines, games, figurines, engravings, sculptures, handicrafts, clothing, accessories, 3D prints, or other examples of artistic skill.

  • 18+ products are permitted, but they must be placed in a separate folder clearly marked “18+” with content warnings. Artistic nudity on display will be censored by covering nipples and genitals.

Prohibited Items for Art Block:

  • Art produced entirely or partially by generative artificial intelligence. (As specified by Kotae Expo’s general AI policy.)

  • We do not accept works that are direct tracings of source material to which the artist has not added anything of their own.

  • Racist, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate content

  • Ready-made products

  • Products made by combining ready-made elements

  • Food

Kotae Expo reserves the right to remove artists who violate the rules from the Art Block.

Selection Process

The selection jury consists of Kotae Expo organizers and, if necessary, external experts.

There is a limited number of Art Block tables available. If the number of Art Block applicants exceeds the available slots, we will conduct a selection process based on portfolios.

Selections are not made in the order of application; instead, we make our selections after the application period has ended.

We strive to ensure that the selection is diverse and appeals to our visitors. The panel consists of various representatives from Kotae Expo, who bring a diverse perspective and experience to the selection process.

Selection criteria is found below:

  • Technical expertise: an assessment of your personal style, the quality of your products, and the expertise evident in them.

  • Diversity: the timeliness, variety, and diversity of the products offered.

  • Target audience: how well your products align with Kotae Expo’s focus on Japanese and Korean pop culture.

  • Creativity: how original your work is, how much originality is evident in your work, and your personal style.

If a selected artist has to cancel their participation before the event (See General Terms and Conditions), we will select a replacement using the method described above.

Introductions of the artists will be published once the selections have been finalized.

All information and selection results will be emailed to the selected artists as soon as possible.

First-time Applicants

If the number of applicants exceeds the number of available spots by at least 20%, we will implement a first-time exhibitor quota. In this case, 20% of the spots will be filled by first-time exhibitors.

By “first-time exhibitor quota,” we mean artists who are exhibiting at Kotae Expo for the first time.

Kotae Expo reserves the right to remove artists who violate the rules from the sales hall.

  • Artists must be at least 15 years old by the time of the event.

  • Kotae Expo is an event open to all ages, so adult-oriented material must be kept in its own separate folder.

    If a product is not clearly an 18+ item, it may be kept as part of the artist’s catalog but must be censored. Artistic nudity should be kept in a separate folder. 18+ material includes, among other things, products containing sexual content, excessive violence, or graphic depictions of violence. These are only made available for the customer to view after their age has been verified. It is the artist’s responsibility to ensure that minors cannot browse 18+ material.

  • The works should clearly feature the artist’s own artistic touch and should not resemble the original source work too closely. For example, if you want to sell your own version of a classic painting, make sure it bears your own signature style.

  • Each artist is responsible for their own products, prices, and cash on hand. Do not leave your money or valuables unattended.

  • Artists are responsible for the safety and stability of the structures on their own tables.

  • You may not set up your own unauthorized additional structures or stands next to the table. Otherwise, all structures must fit on top of or behind the table.

  • Artists are encouraged to bring banners, backgrounds, etc., to their tables to add some colorful decoration to the table or, alternatively, to the background.

  • Please be considerate of other artists and leave enough space for people to walk behind and around the tables; do not disturb others with excessive noise or inappropriate behavior.

  • Suitcases and other items related to transportation must be kept out of the walkways.

  • You may not sell products on your table belonging to anyone who has not been accepted or applied to be an artist.

  • Loitering behind the tables is PROHIBITED.
