Accessibility at the Event

We want to make our event an enjoyable experience for everyone, while taking different limitations and individual needs into consideration. On this page, you can find information about accessibility.

Getting Around and Arriving

  • Our event venue is largely accessible!
  • A support person can attend the event free of charge if the person they are assisting has an EU Disability Card with an A symbol. The support person must arrive at ticket exchange together with the person they are assisting.
  • Ticket exchange
    • If needed, a member of the security staff can escort you past the ticket exchange queue.
  • A wheelchair can be borrowed for the duration of your visit from the Information Desk in the main lobby.
  • Accessing the second floor by lift:
    • Themed cafés @Tori and Siriukseen, as well as the E-gallery meeting area, can be reached from the left-hand side of the E-hall sales area.
    • The quiet room in the Meeting Corridor and the meeting area in the main lobby can be reached directly from the main lobby using the platform lift.
    • The Seminar Centre spaces Dynamo, Vibe, Spark and Flow can be reached using the lift in front of Restaurant Arlanda. The restaurant is located near the main lobby.
 

Accessibility Pass

  • Kotae Expo offers a voluntary accessibility pass, a card that visitors can use to communicate their individual needs to other visitors and event staff.

  • You can request an accessibility pass from the Information Desk at the main entrance. You do not need any certificates or medical statements to get one – simply ask for it.

  • Kotae Expo and our volunteers also aim to recognise other signs or cards indicating accessibility needs, such as the Toilet Pass, visual impairment symbol and sunflower lanyard.

  • If necessary, our volunteers can assist accessibility pass holders by
    • Escorting them past queues when necessary
    • Guiding them to accessible seating at programme events, where there is also room for a support person
    • Providing a separate chair upon request while waiting in queues or other waiting situations.
 

Private Facilities

  • Toilets
    • The toilets in the event area are primarily unisex toilets during the event.
    • Outside each toilet area, you will find information about the number of toilet stalls, as well as whether the facilities include urinals or a baby changing station.
    • Accessible toilets are available alongside the other toilet facilities. Toilets can be found in the corridor between Halls E and A, at the left end of the seating area in Hall A, near Restaurant Arlanda, and on the second floor near themed café @Toriita, in the Seminar Centre near the lift, and in the Meeting Corridor. You can also find the locations of the toilets on our venue map.
    • Please let holders of a Toilet Pass go ahead of you in the queue! More information about the Toilet Pass.
  • Changing rooms
    • The venue has both gendered and unisex changing rooms. The changing rooms are open throughout the event and are located in the corridor next to Hall D on the first floor. The easiest way to reach them is through the main lobby.
  •  

Quiet Room

  • This year, the quiet room is located on the second floor of the exhibition centre, in the LUMEN room in the Meeting Corridor. You can easily reach it by lift or stairs directly from the main lobby.
    • The quiet room can be used for relaxing, praying and other quiet activities.
    • Please leave conversations to the other areas of the venue!

 

Programme

  • Some seats are reserved at programme events for visitors with visual or hearing impairments and their support persons (one support person per person).

  • Accessible seating can be accessed without a separate seat ticket by showing your accessibility pass.

  • The venue does not have a hearing loop system (T-loop) available.

  • Wheelchair spaces are available in all programme rooms.

 

Allergies

  • Animals are not allowed inside the event venue, with the exception of guide and assistance dogs.

  • Hairspray and other scented sprays may only be used in the changing rooms.

  • Please avoid wearing strong fragrances!

  • Smoking is only permitted in the designated smoking area.

 

Anti-Harassment Contact Persons

  • If you experience harassment, unwanted attention, bullying or other inappropriate treatment during the event, you can contact our anti-harassment contact persons. An anti-harassment contact person will listen, comfort and support you, help resolve the situation and, if necessary, take the matter further.

  • Anti-harassment contact persons are on duty throughout the event, including during the evening parties and at night. They can therefore be reached at any time.

  • All contacts are strictly confidential, and no action will be taken without the request of the person who experienced the harassment.

  • During the event, you can contact the anti-harassment contact persons by phone or text message. The phone numbers will be announced later!

  • You can also contact the anti-harassment contact persons using the Anti-Harassment Report Form before and after the event.

Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre is currently updating its website. We will add a link to the accessibility map once the website update is complete. In the meantime, you can view our venue map, which also shows the locations of lifts and accessible toilets.
